FastPost Price Increase

NZ Post Raises Prices

UPDATE: Sadly, on Jan 1, 2018, the FastPost was discontinued by NZ Post. Although NZ Post says the delivery targets for Standard Post and ParcelPost are up to 3 business days, the reality for many customers is up to 8 days for Standard Post – although sometimes much faster for a lucky few. ParcelPost appears to be a much faster option at this stage if you need your replacement tips in a bit of a hurry.

As you may have heard, NZ Post are increasing the prices of some of their services from the 1st of July. One of those services is FastPost, which is going up from $2.80 to $3.30 for large envelopes. Your orders count as large because they are thicker than 6mm.

This is an incredible increase, and I can’t help but think NZ Post is shooting themselves in the foot – but that’s just my opinion.

Unfortunately, I will be unable to offer this as a free postage option at the current spend level of $12 and over. Instead, this will be offered at $15 and over.

On the positive side, Standard Post remains the same. Yay! And you will still get free Standard Post when when you spend $10 or more. Double-yay!!

Postage costs to Australia remain at $2.20.

Order your tips today and select FastPost to grab a postage-bargain while it still lasts!

Change to how discounts work… for the better!

Discount coupons are so last century! Well, maybe last year!

The thing is, if you didn’t see the banner at the top of the page when you were checking out previously, you missed out on that sweet 15% off. That kinda sucks.

So things have changed to make it fair for everyone… now, all you need to do is buy some tips and automatically be rewarded with a discount. And better still, the more earbud tips you buy – from any category, not just the same colour or size – the more discount you receive!

For example, in the table below, you can see that one pair of tips costs $3.50, but three pairs costs $3.15 each – that’s 10% off just like that!

buy more tips, get a bigger discount!

Whether it’s three pairs of yellow Standard tips, or one pair of black Standard tips, one pair of red Sony tips, and one pair of Jaybird tips, you’d still get 10% off in both scenarios.

But discount coupons haven’t totally gone the way of the dodo, or mammoth… every order completed up until now has received an email with a 10% off coupon, which will still be honoured. Additionally, every order contains a business card with a special 20% off code, which will continue for the foreseeable future. Best of all, these coupon codes can be combined with the item discounts above to get up to a massive 40% off a subsequent order!

Thanks for reading, and I look forward to processing your order soon!

A New Way to Pay!

Pay securely online with POLi paymentsLet us introduce to you: POLi Payments!

This is a great new way to pay for your order online, from your bank account, without leaving our site… POLi Payments is just like Internet Banking. If you’ve bought tickets online with Air New Zealand, or paid for your car registration on the NZTA site, or even shopped at The Warehouse online, then you may have already come across this payment method.

So, at the checkout, you will be presented with different options to pay for your order.  If you choose POLi Payments, and click Place order, you will be presented with a POLi Payments screen where you’ll be required to select your bank. All the major trading banks are able to be used. POLi payments work with these banks: Available Banks.

Order reference when paying with POLi paymentsAfter selecting your bank and clicking Continue, you will then be prompted to log into your bank account – log in using your normal internet banking username and paswsword.

Once logged in, you will then need to choose which account to pay with. Your order number is already linked to your POLi Payments ID so no need to fill in any of the fields if you don’t want to.

After clicking Continue one more time, you will be asked to confirm the transaction.

You can cancel the transaction at any stage of the process – this will take you back to the check out screen on this website.

This is a fast and secure payment method, and at no time does Earbuds NZ see your account information or internet banking login details: POLi payments acts as a broker between your account and our account.

Click the POLi Internet Banking at the top-right of this news post for more information about POLi payments.

Temporary Order Limit – REMOVED!

blankHi everyone

Really sorry about this… our new website is proving so popular that stock is flying out the door! So fast, in fact, that I’m likely to run out of stock before the new order arrives!!

So, temporarily, every item is limited to one per person. Remember, it’s just temporary! Once the new stock arrives – in a couple or three weeks hopefully – we’ll remove the limit again.

Sincere thanks for your understanding.

SSL Encryption Is Here!

SSL EncryptedEarbuds NZ is now protected with SSL Encryption. This is great news for everyone who values their privacy online!

If you look in the address bar, our URL starts with HTTPS. What this means is that everything you do on our website is encrypted between your phone, tablet or desktop PC and our web server.  If you’re buy tips from your mobile while using a public wifi hostspot, nobody can snoop your address details during the checkout process.

Bear in mind we use PayPal for processing credit card and PayPal payments, which are already encrypted, so your financial details are always secure anyway. But having encryption on our website means your account details (particularly your name and address information) remains private from start to finish!

If you’re a little bit techy, then you may have already viewed the certificate we’re using, and noticed it is a free certificate issued by Let’s Encrypt, and not one of the paid ones from the big boys like Symantec (Verisign) or Comodo. That’s ok, the encryption is still complete and valid. You may also noticed it’s only valid for a short amount of time. This is for security reasons – free certificates don’t have the same level of validation as the paid ones, so need to be revalidated and replaced regularly – every three months. This will not affect encryption on Earbuds NZ, as the certificate will be renewed automatically by our web hosting service 10 days before it’s due to expire.

If you have any queries or concerns, please leave a comment below or contact us directly.

New Earbuds NZ Website Now Live!

New WebsiteWelcome to our brand new website!!

This has been in the works for a little while now because the old shopping cart system I used only supported coupons on the paid plans, and those plans were VERY expensive.

So I’ve created a new site using WordPress and WooCommerce, both of which are free, and best of all… we now support coupons!!

There will still be some tweaks and adjustments to the site over the coming weeks and months, but as of now this new site is now live!  We’ll be adding in some bits of the old content over time too – revamped and easier to read.  And shortly we’ll be adding an SSL certificate to protect your data (purchases using PayPal and Credit Cards are already protected through the PayPal portal).

I would love to hear your feedback – please leave a comment.

And here’s our welcoming gift to you*: 15offnow

Use this coupon code to get 15% off your first order!  Apply the coupon at checkout.

* valid until the end of August and can only be used once per person. Not able to be used with other coupon codes.

NZ Post Delivery Date Changes

mailboxAs of the beginning of July 2015, NZ Post has changed its delivery schedules.

Summary: Standard mail to street-side letter boxes will be delivered every 2nd day. So this will be Mon-Wed-Fri, or Tue-Thu-Sat, depending on where you live.  Priority items such as Fast Post and parcels will still be delivered daily, as will PO Boxes.

What does this mean for your orders from Earbuds NZ? Well, we’ll still be sending out orders every day, but orders may take a little longer to get to you.  We may look at offering a Fast Post delivery option if there’s enough call for it – send me a request!

Check out the full details of the delivery changes on NZ Post’s website.
