Important Changes

Please read!

The reliability of NZ Post has decreased markedly since July 2018, to the point where order sent via Standard Post have a high chance of going missing. This was especially true over the 2018/2019 Christmas/New Year break.

This has meant the following changes:

  • ParcelPost Tracked (including the Rural Post Tracked option) are now the only options covered under our Lost Orders policy.
  • Orders shipped using non-tracked Standard Post or ParcelPost options are at the buyers risk – there will be no refunds, and resends will be the full cost of the items and postage, when these have been selected.

This is because once an order is posted, the responsibility for delivery is out of the hands of Earbuds NZ and lies completely with NZ Post. If an order is lost en route when using a non-tracked shipping option, NZ Post will make no effort to locate it. Whereas if the order is Tracked, NZ Post will either locate the order or reimburse Earbuds NZ if they can’t, allowing us to replace a lost order without additional cost to you.

Postage Info

How we operate

All orders are posted in either a ParcelPost bag (especially for larger items like cases), or a plain DL envelope. Please ensure you provide a valid postal address at checkout – address lookup is provided to assist with this.

IMPORTANT: Invalid addresses could delay the delivery of your order, and may incur additional postage charges if your order needs to be resent via another shipping method or to an alternate address.

Letter deliveries by NZ Post are not available for every address, especially learning centres, business and commercial addresses in major CBDs. In these situations, check to see if a PO Box or Private bag address is more appropriate. ParcelPost is usually available if letter deliveries aren’t. Please ensure you select the correct shipping option for your address.

Earbuds NZ aims to post orders the next business day. Sometimes this is not always possible. An email is sent once your order has been processed and put in the mail.

No mark-up has been added to the postage costs at checkout – we believe it is only fair that you are charged the actual costs of postage and no more. Standard Post envelopes are thicker than 6mm, and therefore classed as Large by NZ Post.

On February 1, 2018, NZ Post introduced a rural charge of $3.70 for tracked and untracked ParcelPost deliveries to Rural Delivery (RD) addresses. Earbuds NZ now provides ParcelPost Rural Delivery and ParcelPost Rural Delivery Tracked as a shipping option for RD addresses. Standard Post can also be used for RD addresses, without incurring any extra charges.

Delivery Targets

How long it might take

NZ Post provides the following delivery targets when it comes to processing mail and ParcelPost items.

  • ParcelPost Tracked, ParcelPost and Standard Post delivery target is up to 3 working days for nationwide delivery.
  • Delivery targets are a guide only and NZ Post does not guarantee your item will reach its destination within the delivery target.
  • Delivery to and from rural or remote areas may take longer.

The experience reported to us by some customers shows that the above delivery targets should be doubled, or even tripled, on many occasions.

Over the Christmas/New Year break, this can easily increase to 4 weeks.
